The Prisoners were a Sydney punk rock band circa 1979 that formed soon after Rocks disbanded (for the first time).

Bill Posters from Rocks approached ex-Rocks guitarist Peter Davie and drummer Greg Morris with the idea of putting a new band together. Another local lad Ian Olive was recruited on bass. The four-piece soon got songs together and made a demo in Bill's bedroom, recording straight to tape with no overdubs on 16th July 1979.

The Prisoners managed a only few gigs before the departure of Peter to become a father, after which they became a three-piece with Bill playing guitar. The end came soon after, with Ian Olive leaving due to work commitments.
